Litchfield Wine & Liquors All In Good Spirits Bourbon & Burnz

Nothing is better on a hot, lazy summer day than sittin’ on the front porch, sippin’ a glass of sweet tea. Jim Irvin and Scott Newitt couldn’t agree more—as long as it’s sweet tea with a kick. Jim and Scott are the creators of Firefly, a sweet tea flavored vodka, that has become an overnight sensation; Firefly is the brainchild of Jim and Scott, two southern gentlemen with a passion for the South and all that makes it unique.

In the early 2000's, Jim and his wife Ann bought a winery on Wadmalaw Island and Scott was in the wine industry. They crossed paths and the idea for the Original Sweet Tea Flavored Vodka was born.

“It doesn’t get more Southern than sweet tea,” Scott will tell you. "One of our strongest brand assets is that we are 'genuinely Southern.' Jim and I make our home in South Carolina. Our vodka is distilled in Wadmalaw Island. Our tea comes from our friends at the Charleston Tea Plantation, which is just down the road from our distillery. The sugar we use is from Louisiana, it is pure cane sugar. We do not use any artificial ingredients."

Scott, “The Firefly Guy”, was born and raised in Louisiana's Honey Island Swamp and is an LSU graduate. He is very proud of his southern roots and is very passionate about Firefly Vodka, made evident by his nickname. Scott lives in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina with his wife, Trish, and their kids- Drew, Peter and Patsy. In his spare time, which there isn’t much of these days, he plays drums in the 17 South Bluegrass Band.

When Scott told Jim, “let’s make some southern spirit”, they had no idea how overwhelming the response to Firefly would be. They are blown away by the outstanding reception.

“It’s great to see folks from all over embracing this southern spirit,” said Jim. “We couldn’t be more pleased with the reviews. Y’all keep drinking it and we’ll keep making it!”
